  • Turtle Bay Beach Club is situated on 200 metres of beach on the edge of the internationally acclaimed Watamu National Marine Park, one of the best in Kenya.

    The hotel buildings are set in 10 acres of tropically landscaped gardens with 145 rooms, three restaurants, three bars, entertainment lounge and swimming pool, and as such makes up one of the most extensive all-inclusive properties in Kenya.

    Our Rooms
    Super Club Rooms - 89 Rooms

    These rooms have been extensively renovated and redecorated, all have a separate bath and showers, balcony, split unit air-conditioning, coffee and tea facilities, room safe (free of charge), hair drier, body soap provided and a complete mosquito proof sleeping area. These rooms are also equipped with a double and single bed; some of these rooms have interconnecting doors and 3 have been specifically designed for physically handicapped clients with showers only.
    Lamu Rooms - 40 Rooms

    These are Swahili style units, all renovated and new decorated, with some overlooking the ocean or garden. All with split unit air conditioning and ceiling fan, coffee and tea facilities, room safe (free of charge), hair drier, ensuite bath and shower or showers only, body soap provided, twin beds (or Queen size on request) and mosquito proof sleeping area, patio or terrace. Suitable for 2 adults.
    Ocean Front Rooms - 14 Rooms

    14 rooms which have been extensively refurbished; are beach front all with air-conditioning and ceiling fan, separate bath and shower, double and single bed, room safe (free of charge), hair drier, shampoos are provided and a complete mosquito proof sleeping area and balconies or patios with direct beach access. Have tea/coffee facilities. Suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children
    2 Sea - View Suites


    Lounge and bedroom with split unit air - conditioning, Lamu bed with mosquito net, personalised fridge, room safe (free of charge), hair drier, shampoos are provided, coffee and tea making facilities. Separate shower and bath suitable for two adults.

    OTHER ACTIVITIES


    Tennis Includes group tuition, equipment (ordinary tennis racquets and balls), day and night-time play on a floodlit court.

    Cycling Bicycles for both men and women are available for use.

    MINI CLUB
    The hotel includes a fully supervised Mini Club for 4 –12 year olds, open
    10.00 a.m. – 1.00p.m. and 3.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. daily and Tarzan's Tree House, a playground set in our tropical gardens and a kid’s fort by the swimming pool. Parents can enjoy their holiday while we take care of their children. The Mini Club offers cartoons films, games, and field trips. (Baby sitting service on request).

    DAILY ACTIVITIES
    Table-tennis and beach volleyball plus many other daily activities organised by the Fun Base team. We also offer aquatics, beach olympics, beach soccer, village walks, Swahili lessons, darts, sand-castle making, tug-of-war, water polo, snorkelling.

    THEME NIGHTS
    Include African Night, Oriental Night, Italian Night, Mexican Night, Arabic Night, Swahili Night and more.

    NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
    Includes visiting bands, disco, African tribal dancers, acrobatic shows, snake shows, quiz nights and video nights.

    Food


    Full breakfast and dinner offered in the main restaurant by the pool, which seats 300 and has smoking and non-smoking areas overlooking Watamu beach. The meals are buffet style.

    Full lunch is offered at the Snack Bar at the poolside in buffet style and also snacks from 12.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.

    Blue TurtleRestaurant on the beach is regularly utilised in the evenings as a waiter service area. Guests need to book in advance for this area. A la carte menu at an extra charge and also run for special occasions (weddings, etc).

    Pizzeria (Kasaramba Restaurant) overlooking tropical water ponds offers a variety of oven fresh pizzas and other meals for lunch and evening at an extra charge for some meals.

    Beverage & Bars

    • Domestic wines, beer, spirits, soft drinks and fruit juices (see Appendix. 1 for specific drinks).
    • Pool Bar – Opens at 10 am and closes at 1 am. A popular area during day and evening time.
    • Kasaramba Bar – Next to the pizzeria in a quieter location. Opens from 11 am – 2 pm and 6 pm – 11 pm.
    • Dunes Bar – Right on the beach where you can enjoy branded drinks at an extra charge.
    • Opens from 10 am – 1 am.

    Group tuition is available for windsurfing boards. The windsurfing school with ordinary windsurf boards for beginners and average windsurfers is managed by a qualified English - German speaking instructor. The advanced and latest under 3 metres equipment is also available at an extra charge. 5 Fun Catamarans are available at the watersport centre. The guests can take a course for ₤25 and a sailing certificate will be issued to them, this will allow the guest to take the boat out for maximum ½ hour a day whenever they like for the rest of their stay. Or another option will be one of the watersports supervisors take the guests on a 1 hour sailing trip through Turtle Lagoon for ₤5.

After we have made a decision, what are the next steps in formalizing our booking or confirming our trip?

Deposits, Balance Due Dates, Special Rates

How much is required to reserve my safari?

Upon confirmation, a deposit of 40% of the total is required. However, full payment is required if your safari is less than 90 days away.

PAYMENT FOR KENYA SAFARIS
Your contract for arrangements for services will become binding on receiving 40% deposit after which we shall issue a confirmation invoice. The balance must be received 30 days before the commencement of the safari. Payment in full is required where bookings are made less than 15 days before the safari begins.

PAYMENT FOR KENYA/TANZANIA COMBINED SAFARIS
A deposit of 45% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 45 days before commencement of the tour program. If the reservation is made within 45 days of departure the whole amount must be paid at the time of confirmation to enable us clear the tanzania part in good time as per their contract terms and condition .

Once we make a deposit, is the price locked in?

Yes.

When is the final payment due?

The final payment is due 90 days prior to departure if using a credit card.

Is there a discount for early payment in full?

This depends on several factors including length of safari, properties visited, size of group, and how early the payment is made. Ask us!

Are there special rates for children?

Children below the age of 11 years travel at 75% of the adult rate when sharing a room with two full paying adults. If a child shares a room with one adult or with another child the full adult rate applies.

What does "Single Room Supplement" (SRS) mean?

This is a surcharge applied when a traveler chooses to have a room to themselves, or "solo rooming." All of our listed prices are based on two people sharing a room.

Can I pay with my credit card over the phone?

Yes, we can take your credit card details over the phone.We can also issue an invoice where you can pay online entering all the details by yourself.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?

While any cancellation is regrettable, significant planning and administrative resources are committed long before departure and as a result, a cancellation charge is applicable for each cancellation.

Upon receipt of written notice of cancellation, we will refund any fees you have paid for your safari, less administrative expenses as follows:

  • Ninety days or more prior to departure: Full refund less $750.00 per traveler.
  • Eighty-nine to 45 days prior to departure: Full refund less 33% of the safari's total cost.
  • Less than 45 days prior to departure: No refund.
  • Airfares are non-refundable.

Air Travel

Are international airfares from the USA included in the price?

The safari prices provided on our website, www.joylandsafaris.com, are for ground arrangements only. Round trip international airfare from your home city to Nairobi, Kenya (NBO), Kilimanjaro (JRO) or Arusha (ARK) is charged separately.

Do you assist with airline bookings?

No we don't,We only assist in local flight bookings within east Africa.

How many hours is the flight to Kenya/Tanzania from the United States?

Most flights from the United States stop in London or Amsterdam on their way to Nairobi, Kenya or Arusha, Tanzania. A flight from New York to Amsterdam/London is seven hours or so. Amsterdam/London to Nairobi/Arusha is eight-and-a-half hours. Total flight time with no layovers is fifteen to sixteen hours.

Are airport transfers included if we make our own flight arrangements to Africa?
We dont charge for airport transfers at all.we give it as as free service courtesy of having chosen us as your host.
Our airport meet and greet service is part of your safari. The airfare is completely separate. Many of our clients purchase airline tickets using frequent flyer miles they have accumulated.

Travel Insurance

Do I need travel insurance?
We highly recommend travel insurance. Between missed connections, lost or delayed luggage, or medical emergencies, insurance offers you the peace of mind that your vacation investment is well protected.
